Kindness
in Action
Kindness begins with individuals. Perform one act, share the experience, and inspire another person to continue the chain.
acts of kindness
One Act.
One Story.
One Community at a Time.
Technology will shape our future.
Humanity should shape technology.
A Nation of Kindness is a Canadian movement initiated by a group of individuals who believe kindness should have a stronger place in how we live, work, lead, and build our communities.
Coming from diverse professional and community backgrounds, we share a simple belief: kindness is more than a personal virtue. It can shape the way we treat one another, conduct business, develop technology, strengthen communities, and create a better future.
A Nation of Kindness is designed to be open and inclusive. It does not belong to any one person, profession, organization, or community. It is an invitation for people across Canada — children, families, professionals, businesses, educators, technology leaders, and community organizations — to turn kindness into meaningful action.
We envision a Canada where kindness is reflected not only in everyday human interactions, but also in the decisions that shape our workplaces, businesses, technologies, institutions, and communities.
A society where success is measured not only by what we achieve, but also by how we treat people along the way — and where progress, leadership, and innovation remain grounded in humanity.
Together, we can help build a kinder, more connected, and more humane Canada.
To make kindness a guiding principle not only in how we treat one another, but in how we lead, build, invest and innovate — helping create a more humane society and a more responsible future.
We are entering an extraordinary period of human history. Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are transforming how we work, communicate, learn, create and make decisions.
But technological capability alone cannot determine the future we want. Human dignity, empathy, responsibility, respect and concern for others must remain part of the equation.
Kindness begins with individuals. Perform one act, share the experience, and inspire another person to continue the chain.
Kindness in business does not mean abandoning competition, profitability or performance. It means recognizing that long-term success and human responsibility can coexist.
As technology becomes more powerful, humanity must become more intentional. We welcome innovation while keeping people at the centre.
Technology should be powerful and responsible. Innovation and humanity are not competing ideas.
People are more than data points, users or components of technological systems.
Innovation should contribute to human flourishing alongside efficiency and productivity.
Safety, privacy, transparency, accountability and unintended consequences belong in the process from the start.
Technology should strengthen human potential and meaningful relationships.
Progress should create opportunities broadly and expand human potential.
We believe technology should advance human potential while respecting human dignity.

— Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada
Business creates jobs, products, services, opportunity, and progress. Investment provides the capital that helps ideas grow.
But when profit becomes the only measure of success, business can lose sight of why it exists in the first place.
Business for Humanity invites entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and professionals to reconnect business and capital with human purpose.
Choose one action that reconnects business with the people and purpose it is meant to serve.
Profit matters. But profit should be the result of creating real value — not the purpose by itself.
Technology is shaping our future. We believe it must remain safe, responsible, and firmly in service of humanity.
Perform one act. Share one story. Mentor one person. Build one responsible technology. Start one conversation. Challenge someone else.
